Bahamas Scuba Diving

When planning a vacation to the 700 islands off of the coast of Florida, make sure you make time for some Bahamas scuba diving. The Bahamas chain spreads from the Florida coast to the Turks and Caicos Islands and offers guests dive packages that range from laid back to thrilling.

Additionally, you can book scuba diving tours, deep sea fishing trips, bone fishing, and other water excursions that are available. Of course, you will also want to take some time to also explore the islands on foot and enjoy the many vacation resorts they offer.

Bahamas scuba diving offers you an underwater landscape that is as individual as the islands themselves. Scuba diving tours here include diving the ‘Tongue of the Ocean’ off of Chub Cay and the deep continental shelves off Bimini at Nassau. Divers here will get to see and experience walls, reefs, big fish, macro life, sharks, and other interesting marine life. Scuba diving in the Bahamas is never boring, and it is definitely one time you want to make sure you have the best underwater camera possible.

You can get to the Bahamas from the United States easily by flying directly into one of the three International airports or through one of the 29 marinas that are considered official ports of entry. You can move around the islands via taxi or you can rent a car, bicycle or scooter. You can even walk to most of the locations that you want to get to. You will not have to worry about understanding a foreign language in the Bahamas as English is the official language. You will need, however, a valid passport to exit and enter the United States.

Bahamas scuba diving is done in some of the best weather around. The climate is very close to that of Florida’s, but tends to be cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. The water temperature usually remains between 72 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit all year round. There are plenty of scuba diving resorts and scuba diving tours available so when you book your trip, check with your travel agent to see what you reserve ahead of time.
